Once again Bakersfield Public School is pleased to be hosting its annual Terry Fox Run and Walk on October 1st (rain date October 3rd). We will be holding a school assembly before the scheduled event to help raise awareness about Terry Fox’s remarkable story and his lasting legacy as a truly heroic Canadian.
The school will participate in our Terry Fox Run and Walk, with primary students (K-3) running and walking around our school property and junior/intermediate students (4-8) running and walking along a short supervised route around the community, in the general vicinity of the school.
To date, our school has raised close to $10,000 through it’s participation in this yearly event. Last year we raised over $700 and our goal this year is to raise over $1000. Please help our fundraising efforts by sending a toonie with your child by October 1st. If each student brings a ‘Toonie for Terry’, we’ll exceed our goal, and contribute in an important way to ongoing cancer research. We thank you for your support.
