The week of November 2–9 2014 marks the 34th annual Holocaust Education Week and Bakersfield Public School is proud to be hosting a Holocaust Survivor Speaker again this year.
On Wednesday, November 5th at 1:45 p.m., students in grades 7 and 8 will have the opportunity to hear our guest speaker, Mr. Andy Réti. Mr. Réti will share his personal experiences living in the Budapest Ghetto, being liberated in January 1945, escaping during the Hungarian Revolution and immigrating to Canada in 1956. Holocaust Education Week brings generations of communities together who share a commitment to learning and explores different national, generational and cultural narratives of the Holocaust and its aftermath.
We invite parents, family members and our school community to join us for this special presentation.
