Terry Fox School Run and Walk

Yesterday we held a school assembly to help raise awareness about Terry Fox’s remarkable story and his lasting legacy as a truly heroic Canadian. Once again Bakersfield Public School is pleased to be hosting its annual Terry Fox Run and Walk on Thursday, October 1st.

The school will participate in our Terry Fox Run and Walk, with primary students (K-3) running and walking around our school tarmac and field while junior/intermediate students (4-8) will be running and walking an extended route around the larger school property.

Over our history, Bakersfield Public School has raised over to $10,000 through it’s participation in this yearly event.  Last year we raised close to $800 and our goal this year is to raise over $1000.  Please help our fundraising efforts by sending a toonie with your child by October 1st.  Toonies can be dropped of in our collection box in the office at any time.  If each student brings a ‘Toonie for Terry’, we’ll exceed our goal, and contribute in an important way to the ongoing effort to eradicate cancer in our lifetime.  We thank you for your support.
