We started with a small pile, which turned into a mound, which grew into a hill … which has erupted into a full fledged mountain! It’s no surprise that the Bakersfield P.S. community has proved to be very generous, once again. In just two weeks we’ve managed to amass a sizeable collection of toys–which will be sure to put smiles on the faces of many children this holiday season–and it keeps getting bigger every day. We will continue to collect toys through Wednesday December 16th 2015 to support Toy Mountain, a program in conjunction with CTV and the Salvation Army, which distributes gifts to children in need over the holiday season. If you’d still like to, please have your child drop off an unwrapped toy in the office.
As well, all families are invited on Wednesday, December 16th 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to the North Thornhill Community Centre, where our Toy Mountain will be donated, and where CTV Weather Anchor Tom Brown will broadcast the event live during CTV Toronto’s News at 6. Many of our students have made it on to the news broadcast in past years, so we encourage our community to drop by the event, hosted by Councillor Sandra Yeung Racco.
Help us build a mountain of good cheer for children in need
this holiday season … one toy at a time.
