It is with mixed emotions that we wish a fond farewell to Ms. Sylvia Digby, who’s final day of teaching is tomorrow, February 28th, 2017. While a teacher retiring, unto itself, is not especially unusual, Ms. Digby’s retirement is noteworthy. Ms. Digby began her career with the York Region District School Board in September of 1973, which makes her the longest serving teacher in the entire region. Please help us wish Ms. Digby, whose career has spanned 44 years, all the best in her retirement.
Ms. Digby’s Reading Recovery responsibilities will be taken over by Ms. Vita Ingraldi and her French and prep coverage responsibilities will be taken over by Ms. Elisabeth Chomko. Ms. Digby has had an opportunity to meet and plan with both teachers in the interest of continuity.
Congratulations, Ms. Digby!
