PINK Shirt Day and Dance-a-Thon

It’s HERE!!!  Our Dance-a-thon is tomorrow and we are SUPER excited! Students will be moving and dancing in the gym throughout the day.  Each student will be given a glow bracelet and will have a Kisko Freezie (generously donated by Kisko).  If you do not wish your child to have a freezie, please let the teacher know.

Tomorrow is also PINK shirt day.  With our focus on Kindness and being Proud to be Bakersfield, we will be acknowledging PINK shirt day.  This is a day where we focus on standing up to bullies and saying ‘No’ to being a Bystander and ‘Yes’ to being kind and working together as essential pieces of the community.  Classes have been talking about this in class and many of us will be wearing Pink Shirts to school.

For the Dance-a-thon we have a goal of $10,000 to put towards our Tarmac painting, Buddy bench, new AV equipment for the gym and to finish up the set up of our Tech and Modern Learning space in the library.  At last count today we were at about $8500 raised towards the $10,000 goal.  If you have envelopes at home, please send them in.
