Grade 6, 7 & 8 Summer School Program

Dear Grade 6, 7, and 8 families,

In light of the current circumstances, the York Region District School Board has made the decision to adjust its Summer School programs. During a typical Summer School session, students would be bussed to and from a YRDSB high school to engage in a full day of learning.  This year, students will engage virtually in a synchronous learning experience.

YRDSB offers reinforcement programs for students in grades 6, 7 and 8.  The programs are designed for students who need additional support in Language and Numeracy to reinforce concepts covered in the previous year.  For example, a student currently in Grade 6 would register for the Grade 6 program.  This learning is not designed for students hoping to get ahead for the next grade’s curriculum.  There are separate programs for students with an IEP (Individual Education Plan) as well as for students who are at the beginning of their English Language Learning.

Please use the link below for more information or to register for summer learning.  Students will need their regular login and password to access this registration. We have also attached the original communication from the school board to give you some additional information but keep in mind that much of the logistical information is now innacurate given the circumstances.

If you are unsure if your child is a good candidate for this learning, please contact the homeroom teacher.

Stay safe!
