This Week at BPS

Good Evening BPS Families!

THANK YOU for an incredible first full week back at school. We have done a fairly good job transitioning back to school and adapting to new ways of doing things. Please continue to encourage and remind your children to wear a mask (mandatory for grades 4-8) and to maintain social distancing whether the mask is on or off. This is where we can improve the most. Otherwise, we are doing very well!

Reminder that your child(ren) must bring ALL their food for the day. There are no lunch drop offs or lunch programs. In addition, we don’t have water fountains open. Please send your child(ren) with re-fillable water bottles to use at the water bottle stations.

LAST WEEK – you received an email from YRDSB with the ‘Book of Forms’ to complete. This needs to be done for each child in your home. Please make sure you complete that for us. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call. Note: We will NOT post your child’s face on social media or the Blog in association with their name – ever.

THIS WEEK – you will receive an email from the YRDSB about switching to Virtual School or coming back to Face to Face. This must be completed by end of day Tuesday. There will be absolutley no changes between the models until the end of January, so please remember that.

HEALTH CHECKS – we do not do health checks as students enter the building. Parents are expected to go through the Public Health Checklist before sending kids to school. We are required to isolate staff and students that show symptoms at school and send them home. We will also need to send siblings home too. We know that COVID numbers are rising, and we ask that you partner with us to keep Bakersfield safe. We assure you we are working with you!
