CELEBRATE! Congratulations BPS on a strong finish to the school year!!

Dear Bakersfield Families,

We wanted to take a minute to say THANK YOU for supporting us and helping us all to have a successful 2020-2021 school year. It has not been an easy year for many reasons, and yet at the finish line – at the point of reflection – there is so much to be grateful for and to celebrate! Today, during our staff meeting, we talked about how each and every student met and exceeded expectations in some aspect of school life. We know that there have been challenges and that there will be challenges ahead, but we have seen time and time again how the resilience of our kids and the strength of the Bakersfield community has had an impact on how we thrive and pull through.

As we wrap up for the year, we want to say thank you to our School Council. There is a core group of parents from the community who have helped to engage us with Bingo, Cake Baking, Donut Drive-thrus, Food Drives and Toys Drives to name a few. Please consider joining us next year as we plan for more fun and ways to build community and support learning and well-being!

This is also the time of year that we say farewell to some of our staff and students who are headed off to new places. We wish you well as you go, and know that you will take with you a piece of Bakersfield, and that you remain an ‘essential piece’ of us here too. Congratulations to our Grade 8’s who will continue to make us proud as they head off to highschool! We wish the following staff all the best as they head off for the year or off to new locations for the fall: Ms. Webb, Ms. Goodman, Ms. Abatte, Ms. Cavaliere, Ms. Seecharran, Ms. Pervin, Ms. Brancato, Ms. Zutshi, Ms. Andaluz, Ms. Patel, Ms. Fera, Ms. Roz, Mr. DaSilva, Ms. Klar and Ms. Crasto. We thank you for what you have added here and know that we will continue to collaborate!

Whatever your plans are for the coming weeks, may there be fun, joy, safety, health, and hope for a new school year that will see us reach new heights! As always, BE KIND. BE PROUD. BE BAKERSFIELD!

With Gratitude and much pride,

Krysten Cameron & Brett McLean
