Thank you to everyone for your generosity- the food bank is coming this week to pick up food. We also will be wrapping up our Toy Mountain toy drive on Wednesday. If you still would like to contribute to these great initiatives, please do so before end of day Wednesday. We will let you know our total amounts after Wednesday. Thank you.
This month we continue to share and learn about significant faith days. This month we focused on Chanukah and Christmas and Kwanzaa. Last week students heard about Christmas as a holiday with Santa, but also the story of Jesus being born in Bethlehem. This week students are hearing about Kwanzaa and the seven principles of unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith that are celebrated on this holiday. Our student leaders have done a wonderful job on displays, announcements, fun trivia and social media posts.
School photos– We should be sending home proofs tomorrow or Wednesday. Phot retake day is scheduled for January 26th .
Grade 8 parents – continue to check in with your child’s teacher as we enter January because highschool course selection will be starting. Mark your calendars March 2 for grad photos and June 27 for our graduation ceremony.
School Holiday– this week is our last week before the break. Our first day back to school is Monday January 3rd. Many parents may have this day off as a statutory day but we will be in class. There has been lots of speculation about school closure after the break but we are planning to be here! Should anything change we will communicate asap with families. Remind your child to bring home their items needed for the break (boots, snow pants etc) as the school is closed during the holiday. We will post pictures of lost and found items tomorrow.
