In the Loop…

Hey BPS! It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC to see so many of you out for Curriculum Night this week. The sense of community was strong and it was so delightful to reconnect and to see families meeting each other and re-connecting. We are looking forward to more opportunities to have you all back in the building soon.

School Council kicked off last week and we had a solid turn out of parents. We continue to encourage anyone interested to come out and join us at our Council meetings. We will post a council update soon with dates and other important information. Council minutes will be available on the Council page of the blog after each meeting. To access the council page, visit our blog from a computer.

THANK YOU for your generousity towards our Terry Fox Walk and Run event. We raised $845.oo for cancer research!

Lunches – Mr. Sub lunches and Pizza Pizza lunches are currently listed on Cash Online. We are looking to add additional lunch options for families who are interested. If you would like to participate in a lunch option and need support, please contact the office.

Extra Curricular Activities at school – We are back to running sporting and other clubs at school. Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to join sports teams and participate in other leadership clubs. Currently we have our Cross-country Team running and we have try-outs for our grade 7 &8 volleyball teams. The student leadership group is running and we have students doing morning announcements too. The library is accepting applications for library helpers and there will be more opportunities arise as we move through the year! In the next week or two our Primary choir will be starting. Remind your children to listen to morning announcements so they don’t miss out!

We are about to have our first COLOUR HOUSE ACTIVITY DAY! Originally planned for this week, it has been moved to Tuesday October 11th due to weather. Every staff and student has been placed in a colour house. On Colour House Days, we dress in our colours and we get together in our teams to participate in fun games and activities. This is an opportunity to get to know each other, build community and have some fun! Wear your colours on Tuesday! If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

Coming up next week, we are kicking off our SOCKtober event in parntership with Vaughan Public Library to support 360Kids See the post below for more information.
