In the Loop….

Hey BPS Families! We have had LOTS going on and the coming two weeks are no exception. Welcome to Mr. Terry McElrea who is joining us as Interim Principal on Monday until Ms. Cameron can be back to work.

Reminder that this week we have PHOTO RETAKES on November 1st as well as class group photos. If you would like your child to have thier school photo retaken, please let the homeroom teacher know so that we can get it done. Classes will also have thier group photo at some point during the day.

Tuesday November 1 – Tour Bus for Humanity presentations for Grades 6-8. Students will be partaking in an interactive presentation called “The Canadian Experience” In this workshop, students learn about a variety of topics in Canadian history including the Indian Residential Schools System and the systemic internment of Japanese Canadians during the Second World War. Following a review of the past, current issues including cyber bullying and modern-day examples of intolerance are examined and discussed. For more information, please visit tourforhumanity.com

Wednesday November 3 & Thursday November 4 – Vaughan Public Libraries will be visiting Bakersfield and will be presenting “Heroes of the Holocaust” to our Grades 4-6 and “Racism and Discrimination” to our Grades 7-8.
