In the Loop…

Hey Bakersfield! We hope that everyone has enjoyed a spectacular weekend and that you had a chance to celebrate a significant mother figure in your life. Happy Mothers Day!

If you have been over to the school this weekend you may have seen that our Eco Club started our pollinator garden on the north east corner of the building. We are hoping to add our school composter to this area too as a way to naturally fertilize what has been planted. Huge thank you to Mr. Little and the eco club for their on-going initiatives to positively impact our environment.

We had a great day on Friday with our Colour House Day. Students went to a second rotation of games and activities with their colour houses and had an opportunity to get to know one another. Hats off to Ms. Roebuck and her team of colour house ambassadors who are leading the way. We have a few more colour house activities planned for this year!

DANCE-A-THON – coming up this Friday!!!! Our school goal of $10,000 to put towards technology and new nets for the gym is getting closer to reality. Thank you to everyone for your support. There is a huge amount of excitement for the raffle prizes… please remember to send in the pledge envelopes on Friday with the money, or donate on Cash Online. Donations of $25 or more each will get a tax receipt. Send any questions you have to school.

Lunch Assistants Needed – if you or anyone you know have an hour once a week (or every day) and want to come and help us out, please contact Ms. Sher in the office. We are looking for two lunch assistants for the remainder of the school year. We are so grateful for our lunch assistants here and know they will welcome new members to the team!

EQAO – reminder to Grades 3 and 6 families that EQAO is coming up after the long weekend. Homeroom teachers will be in touch with more information later this week.

Thank you to everyone for your ongoing support and for making Bakersfield such a great part of the community!
